Getting started with Teya Tap

Teya Tap is a convenient and flexible way for you to accept payments using your own Android smartphone by turning your phone into a payments terminal and accepting payment through contactless, Apple Pay, Google Pay and other digital wallets. 

Activate Teya Tap on the Teya Business app 

If it’s the first time you use Teya Tap:

1. Access your Teya App and click on the card icon at the bottom of your home screen
2. Click on Get Started
3. View and allow permissions to use location and camera  
4. Enable Do Not Disturb mode during transactions to keep your device private when taking payments
5. Your Teya Tap is enabled - now it’s time to activate it
   • Take a test payment by following the instructions
   • Once the test payment is done, click on Finish or practice again  

You can practice anytime you like by clicking on the question mark icon on the top right and clicking Practice now.

If you want to lock the Payment mode of your Teya App without giving access to the rest of the app screens (e.g. sales and transactions information), simply click on the open lock on the top right of your screen and select Yes. You can always turn it off by clicking again on the lock. 

If you are already using Teya Tap:

1. Access your Teya App
2. Click on the card icon at the bottom of your home screen

You are now in payment mode: type the amount you want to charge and get ready to Tap!

If you want to share Teya Tap with other people in your business

If you want to share your Teya Tap with other employees without giving them visibility of the rest of the app (e.g. sales and transactions information), you can lock your Teya App to Payment mode:

1. Open Teya Tap from the home screen of your Teya App
2. Click on the open lock on the top right of your screen
3. Select Yes and authenticate yourself to enable the Payment mode
4. You can always turn it off by clicking again on the lock.

If you want to enable another member of your business to use Teya Tap

If you want to allow someone else in the business to use their phone to accept payments, follow these steps first:

1. On your Teya App, head to Settings
2. Select Team and Permissions and click on + Add member
3. Enter the user information (email, first name and last name) and choose Member as a role
4. Click on Send Invite to complete your request.

Your employee will now be able to accept payments using Tap on their Android phone.
