Which app permissions does Teya need and why?
When you enable Teya Tap for the first time, we are asking you to allow Teya Tap to access your phone location, camera and Do Not Disturb mode (this last being optional) – here is why:
- Location - for regulatory and security reasons, we use your location to confirm the country where each transaction is made. We only access your device location when you’re taking payments with Teya Tap.
- Camera - to protect your privacy and one of your customers, we disable the use of the camera when you’re taking payments. We assure you, it is never used to take photos or videos.
- Do Not Disturb (optional) - to prevent your customers from seeing your personal notifications or calls coming through while taking their payments, we suggest you protect your privacy by activating the Do Not Disturb mode when using Teya Tap. The “Do Not Disturb” mode is only active when you’re taking payments.
Which phones can I use Teya Tap on?
Teya Tap is compatible with the majority of Android phones. To use this feature, your device must be operating on Android version 12 or above and have NFC capability.
