Getting started with your Teya Business Account

Welcome to your Teya Business Account! This guide will walk you through everything you need to get started, from setting up your account to making the most of its features.  

Keep in mind that, once opened, your Business Account will serve as the settlement account for your Teya card machine; this means that your sales will go directly into it. 

With your Teya Business Account, you can: 

  • Receive card machine sales directly into your account;
  • Manage your funds effortlessly using the Teya app;
  • Spend confidently with your Teya-issued platinum debit card;
  • Track your earnings, monitor expenses, and earn rewards on purchases. 

Download the Teya App

To use the Business Account, you will need to download for free the Teya Business app in the App Store or Google Play

Finding your account number and sort code

There are two ways to find your account details:  

  1. On the Business Account section, click on Add money and select Account details;
  2. On the App Settings, located on top right of your screen, select Business Information and scroll to see the bank account details.  

You can view and copy the Company name, Sort code and Account number individually, or click on Share details to share the whole information. 

Ordering your physical debit card

With Business Account, you will be able to have a Visa Premium debit card and use it in person, online and on your e-wallet. To request your card for free, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Teya App and go to the Business Account section;
  2. Go to the Cards tab;
  3. Next to Physical, select Order new;
  4. Confirm if the delivery address on screen is correct. If it's incorrect, select Change address and enter the correct one;
  5. Enter the correct address then select Confirm and order.

Your debit card will now be on its way to you and should arrive in 5 to 10 working days.

Activating your physical debit card

Once you have received your debit card, it's time to activate it: 

  1. Open the Teya App and go to Business Account;
  2. Go to the Cards tab;
  3. Select the physical card you want to activate and tap on Activate card;
  4. Enter the last four digits of your long card number and your Teya Business passcode. 

Your card is now activated!

Activating contactless payments for your physical card

To activate contactless payments, you will first need to insert your card into an ATM or card machine and enter your PIN. 

You can view your PIN in the app by following these steps: 

  1. Open the Teya app and go to Business Account
  2. Go to the Cards tab;
  3. Select the physical card and tap Manage;
  4. Select View PIN;
  5. Enter your Teya app passcode.  

You can also make contactless payments using your physical or virtual cards through Google Pay. 

Creating virtual cards

You can create up to 10 active virtual cards for free. Follow these steps:

  1. Open the Teya App and go to Business Account;
  2. Go to the Cards tab;
  3. Next to Virtual, select Create new;
  4. Add an optional nickname;
  5. Select Create to confirm.

Adding your card to Google Pay

If you would like to add your Business Account card to Google Pay, you have 2 options:

  • Scan with your phone camera - use your phone camera to scan your physical card into your Google Wallet;
  • Type your details - enter the 16-digit card number, expiry date, and CVV of your physical or virtual card into your Google Wallet.

Once you have entered your card details, follow the prompts on screen.

Adding your card to Apple Pay

There are two ways to add your Teya cards (physical or virtual) to your Apple wallet: 

  1. In the Teya app, go to the Business Account section and select the Cards tab. Choose the card you want to add to Apple Wallet and click Add to Apple Pay. Then, follow the on-screen instructions;
  2. In the Apple Wallet app, tap the + icon, and follow the on-screen instructions. 

Setting up Direct Debit

You can set up your Direct Debits free of charge, and automating your payments and enjoying more freedom and control. To do so, follow these simple steps:  

  • Choose the service you want to set up the Direct Debit for; 
  • Add your account number and sort code;
  • Confirm and complete the Direct Debit set up.  

Start spending and earning cashback

With any purchase you make with the Teya Business Account cards you will earn unlimited 0.5% cashback, paid monthly - including on international expenses!

We don’t charge any additions fees for using your Teya Business debit card abroad. We use the Visa exchange rate, which you can find out more about here.

  • Yes, your money is safe with a Teya Business Account. Teya Solutions Ltd. (no. 978181) is an e-money institution (EMI) authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. We’re therefore required to protect and keep our customers’ funds safe.
    Teya must comply with the Payment Services Regulations 2017 (PSRs) and the Electronic Money Regulations 2011 (EMRs), requiring us to have appropriate and well-managed safeguarding arrangements. Money that’s safeguarded by Teya can only be used to complete payments made by the customer.
    A Teya Business Account is not a bank account, which means the UK’s Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) doesn’t apply.
