A chargeback starts when a cardholder contacts their bank to dispute a transaction. The bank reviews the information, forwards it to the card schemes, and then to the acquiring bank. You, the merchant, will be notified and can dispute the chargeback.
How are you informed of a chargeback?
When a chargeback is initiated, the transaction amount is deducted from your settlement. You will receive an email with details about the chargeback and the amount debited, sent to your registered business email.
Are there any fees associated with chargebacks?
Yes, merchants are charged a 20 EUR fee for each chargeback initiated.
Can I dispute it?
Yes, you can dispute a chargeback within 7 days by providing the required documentation. If successful, the amount will be returned to your settlement.
