Disabling DCC

DCC is enabled by default on Teya’s card terminals. If you prefer to disable it, you can do so by following these steps:

  1. Tap the Menu located in the upper right corner;

  2. Select Payment Settings;

  3. Enter Manager PIN;

  4. Toggle the Dynamic Currency Conversion switch to deactivate the feature.

If you wish to enable DCC in the future, simply follow the same steps to reactivate it.

Explaining DCC to your customers

When DCC is enabled on your business card terminal, your customer can choose if they want to pay in their currency or in your business local currency. local currency with DCC applied, or their currency.

  1. On the main screen, enter the desired amount and press Charge;

  2. Ask your customer to tap, insert, or swipe their card and any tip if they would like to;

  3. Your customer will now be requested to select the currency they would like to pay with - their card’s currency or your business’s local currency;

  4. The transaction will be processed and authorised at the conversation rate that was displayed on the screen;

  5. Once approved, the customer is billed in their local currency;

  6. The customer receipt at the bottom contains a note about the currency conversion fee, and the information stating this was a DCC transaction.
