For some transactions, your customer may be asked to enter their card PIN code. This is a standard security requirement set to help protect against fraud.
When a PIN may be required
Transactions over £100 with a physical card: The customer will be prompted to enter their card PIN directly on the screen of your device.
Digital wallet payments (Apple Pay or Google Pay): These usually don’t require a PIN, as the authentication is completed using Face ID, Touch ID, or the phone/watch passcode.
