There are 3 elements that make a great loyalty programme:

1. Attractive user acquisition offers and always-on campaigns

There should be an incentive for your customers to download the app and join your loyalty programme.

  • We recommend that a sign-up reward is setup, something small for your customers, to entice them to download the app, link their card and make their first transaction.

  • Once your customers are over the hurdle of linking a downloading the app and linking a card, they will then earn seamless loyalty every time they shop, experience the worlds most rewarding buying experience.

It is in your best interest to get your customers using the app. The more data you get, the easier your marketing decision will be. You will uncover extremely powerful insights into who your customers are and how they spend their money, how frequently they visit and tiering your customers based on spend and rewarding them accordingly.

We recommend to all our retailers to have campaigns continuously to encourage and reward frequency, pushing offers to them ensuring they come back and continue spending in your shop!

2. Variance in what your customers can spend their points on

The Psychology of goal setting -Goal setting rewires our brains. People like driving towards a goal, even with a loyalty

We recommend have 3 tiers of rewards that your customers can drive towards.

  • Low- something small that a customer can redeem after a handful of transactions. Generally low cost, high margin products. e.g. a coffee or a sweet treat.

  • Medium- a bit more substantial but seems like a great deal for your customer. A free sandwich or main meal.

  • High- Something that seems far fetched to the customers but definitely achievable if they put in the hard yards. E.g. A keep cup in a coffee shop or a meal for 2.

3. Manage your Retailer Space

Keep your retailer space up-to-date with your most updated branding, opening hours and any other information that your customers may require. Add links to your websites so customers can see what is on offer before stepping foot in-store!
