Your card machine will arrive charged and programmed with your business information.

Check that your box contains:

  1. A card machine (POS terminal).

  2. A charger.

  3. A short user guide with basic instructions.

Depending on your agreement, the box may contain additional equipment, such as a charging dock.

Your card machine works exactly like any Android mobile phone. Read the instructions below and watch the video to follow these easy steps and start taking payments.

Inserting the paper roll

Make sure the paper roll is correctly inserted and ready to print. The paper roll end should be outside the compartment when the cover is closed.

The terminal can print:

  • Automatic receipts. *

  • Receipts for the customer.

  • Summaries.

* You can easily set this up by selecting Menu > Manage features > Automatic receipt printing.

Checking the battery supply

  • Turn the terminal over and remove the battery cover by swiping the button on the battery cover to the right.

  • Remove the battery, check for a charge protector, and remove this tab if required.

  • Reinsert the battery and close the cover.

Turning the card machine on

  • The power button can be found on the right-hand side.

  • Press and hold for a few seconds to turn on or off.

  • If the terminal starts downloading software, wait a few minutes until this completes.

Once you turn on your card machine, you'll reach the main screen of the card machine with icons for several apps.

The app you'll use is called Teya Payments. After opening the app you'll be greeted with a welcome screen to guide you through next steps.

Checking the battery status

Your card machine will be dispatched with a fully-charged battery, but the delivery process may affect this.

  1. Make sure to check the battery status in the upper right corner of the screen.

  2. If the battery is in red, charge it before continuing.

  3. Connect the device to the charger and the power outlet. The charging icon will disappear when the battery is charged above 80%.

Charging your card machine

Your card machine can be charged either by using a charging base or by plugging the USB-C charger cable directly into the terminal and connecting the cable to the power socket. If using a charging base, plug the USB-C cable directly into the charging base.

Connecting your card machine to the internet

For the card machine to process payments, it must have internet connection.

Your card machine comes with a GPRS SIM and is automatically connected to the mobile internet. Depending on your location and the conditions, the device can connect to a 4G, 3G, or 2G mobile connection.

For a more stable connection, swipe down from the top of the screen and select the WiFi icon, choose your network, and enter your password.

We highly recommend connecting the terminal to your WiFi network. It ensures a more stable connection, allowing you to continue processing payments even in busy hours.

There are 2 ways of connecting your device to the internet:

  • Contactless cards are the most common card type today. Simply tap the card at the top of the device. Follow the same steps for making payments on a mobile.

  • Sometimes inserting a card with a chip is still required. To do this, insert the card in the bottom of the terminal.

  • It's quite uncommon, but some cards still require for you to swipe their magnetic stripe to accept a payment. You should slide these cards from left to right in the slot at the top of the terminal.

Receiving payments in your bank account

When you sign up with Teya, your business infomation and bank account are registered in our database and assigned to your card machine. The payments you take on the terminal are automatically processed overnight and deposited into your bank account the following business day. This means you'll receive your money every day of the week, except on bank holidays and weekends.

Minimum payment amount (MPA)

Note: there is a required threshold you must reach for the payment to be deposited in your bank account. This is called minimum settlement amount or minimum payment amount (MPA) and it's equivalent to 15 eur in your currency.

If your business transacts less than this in one day, you won't receive the payment the following business day. Instead, the amount will be accumulated. As soon as you cross this threshold, your business will be settled in the next payment.
