Understand Hosted Checkout

Hosted Checkout is a secure Teya payment page where your customers complete their purchase after shopping on your website. Instead of you handling card details, your customers are briefly redirected to a Teya page on teya.com, where we manage all sensitive data, authentication, and processing. 

Why use Hosted Checkout?

Using our hosted solution simplifies your technical setup and improves security.

  • Simplified compliance: Teya handles all card data and security requirements, so you don't have to.
  • Secure payments: Built‑in 3D Secure (3DS) adds an extra layer of protection for you and your customers.
  • Digital wallets: Customers can pay quickly using Apple Pay and Google Pay, as well as their cards.
  • Unified reporting: View all online transactions alongside your in-store sales in the Teya App and the Business Portal

How the payment flow works

Here is the journey your customer takes during a transaction:

  1. Checkout: The customer builds a basket on your website and clicks Pay.
  2. Redirect: They are redirected to the secure Teya Hosted Checkout page.
  3. Payment: The customer enters their card details or uses a digital wallet (Apple Pay/Google Pay).
  4. Security Check: Teya runs 3D Secure authentication (checking with the bank) to authorise the payment.
  5. Confirmation: Once approved, the customer is sent back to your website's order confirmation page.

Hosted Checkout supports major cards and digital wallets:

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • American Express
  • Apple Pay (on supported devices)
  • Google Pay

Customising your checkout

You can configure the look and feel of the payment page to match your business needs during integration:

  • Display details: Choose whether to show the item list, store name, and order total.
  • Customer data: Select which details to collect (e.g., cardholder name, email, phone number).
  • Redirection: Decide if customers see a Teya success message or are sent immediately back to your store.
