Every new bill lands in your Action Required section on the Home screen of the Teya App for review. Reviewing bills allows you to confirm the details are correct before any money moves. This guide explains how to check, pay, and manage your bills using your Teya Business Account.
How do I review and approve a bill?
To review a bill, follow these steps:
Open your Action Required section and select the bill.
Check the extracted details, such as the supplier, amount, dates, and line items. Any details flagged as low or medium confidence are highlighted for you to review.
Edit any field that requires a correction.
Approve the bill, or reject it if it should not be paid. You can optionally add a reason when rejecting a bill, for example, if it is a duplicate or has already been paid elsewhere.
Important: Only super-admins and admins can approve a bill to make a payment.
How do I pay a bill?
Once you review and approve a bill, you can pay it directly from your Teya Business Account.
When you pay a bill, you can choose one of the following options:
Pay it now: The payment processes immediately.
Schedule for the due date: The payment processes on the official due date.
Choose a custom date: The payment processes on a specific date you select.
Once scheduled, the bill moves to the Scheduled status and is paid automatically on your chosen date. When the payment completes and is reconciled, the bill status updates to Concluded.
Next step: Once a bill is paid, you can attach receipts to the payment to help with your accounting. Go to the concluded bill payment transaction from your activity list and select Add a receipt.
How do I set up a recurring bill?
For bills you pay regularly, you can set up a recurring schedule. You choose the start date, how often the payment repeats, and when it should end.
You will receive a notification after each payment to confirm whether it succeeds or fails.
What should I do if a payment fails?
If a scheduled payment cannot complete, the bill payment status updates to Failed, and you receive a notification. Common reasons for failed payments include insufficient funds in your Teya Business Account or incorrect payee details.
From there, you can fix the issue and retry the payment.
