This guide explains how to install and configure the Teya online payments plugin for your e-commerce website. Follow these steps to connect your Shopify or WooCommerce store to your Teya Account and start accepting online payments with no coding required.

Before you start

Important: Make sure you have the following ready before you begin the installation:

  • A Teya Account with online payments switched on.

  • A Teya ID with Owner or Admin access for your e-commerce store.

How do I install the Teya plugin?

Follow the relevant steps below depending on the platform you use to run your website. For the full setup, see the Shopify guide here or the WooCommerce guide here.

Shopify

  1. Go to the Shopify App Store.

  2. Search for Teya, or navigate directly to the Teya app page.

  3. Select the option to install the app to your store.

WooCommerce

  1. Open your WordPress admin dashboard.

  2. Navigate to the plugins section and search for Teya Payments for WooCommerce.

  3. Select the option to install and activate the plugin.

  4. Alternatively, download the plugin directly from wordpress.org and upload it to your site.

How do I connect my store to Teya?

Once you install the plugin, you need to connect it to your Teya Account.

  1. Open the Teya plugin settings within your Shopify or WooCommerce admin dashboard.

  2. Select Connect to Teya.

  3. Sign in using the same email address and password you use to access your Teya portal.

  4. Select your e-commerce store from the provided list.

  5. Confirm your selection.

  6. Verify that Enable Teya Payment is ticked in your plugin settings.

Important: You must select your e-commerce store from the list, not your Card Machine store.

Next steps

Customers checking out on your store will now be redirected to Teya's secure payment page to complete their transaction.

To improve your customer experience, review your plugin settings to customise your checkout page. You can upload your business logo, outline your terms and conditions, and write a custom merchant note to display during the checkout process.
