Set up and manage the Manager PIN

The Manager PIN is a secure 4-digit code that protects sensitive actions and information on your Card Machine. This guide explains how the PIN works, how to change it, and what to do if you forget it.

What is the Manager PIN?

Your Manager PIN adds an extra layer of security to your device. It restricts access to features that should only be used by authorised staff, including:

  • Transactions and refunds
  • Sales overview

You set this up when you activate your device, but you can change it at any time. You can also adjust settings to enable or disable the PIN requirement for specific features.

Important

Keep your new PIN confidential to ensure your business data and refund functions remain secure.

Changing your Manager PIN

If you know your current PIN and want to update it for security reasons, follow these steps on your Card Machine:

  1. Tap the Menu icon.
  2. Select Device Settings.
  3. Tap Manager PIN.
  4. Select Change Manager PIN.
  5. Enter your current 4-digit PIN.
  6. Create and confirm your new PIN.

Resetting a forgotten PIN

If you cannot remember your Manager PIN, you can reset it after verifying your identity with your Teya Account. The steps differ depending on whether you are the account owner or a staff member.

  1. Tap the Menu icon on the top left of the screen.
  2. Select Sales overview (or any other protected feature) to trigger the PIN entry screen.
  3. Tap Forgot PIN.

You’ll now be asked to confirm whether you’re the account owner.

If you are the account owner

Only the account owner can complete the reset independently.

  1. Select Yes, I’m the account owner.
  2. Verify your identity using one of the available methods:
    • Scan the QR code using the Teya app, or
    • Remote login using the verification code shown on the screen
    • Email: Log in using the email address associated with your Teya Account.
  3. Return to the terminal and follow the on-screen steps to create a new Manager PIN.

Once completed, the new PIN is active immediately.

If you are not the account owner

If you are an employee or another type of user, you cannot reset the PIN independently.

  1. Select I’m not the account owner.
  2. Ask the account owner to complete the verification using their credentials.
  3. Once the owner verifies their identity, follow the on-screen instructions on the terminal to finish the reset.

Important

If the account owner does not have access to the registered email address or cannot complete verification, the PIN cannot be reset.
