Make a cash deposit

You can deposit cash directly into your Teya Business Account at over 28,000 PayPoint locations across the UK. This service allows you to add funds securely using a barcode generated in your Teya app, removing the need to visit a bank branch.

Finding a location

You can deposit cash at any convenience shop, post office, or retailer that displays the PayPoint logo and supports cash deposits.

How to make a deposit

Follow these steps to generate your secure barcode and complete the transaction.

  1. Log in to the Teya app.
  2. Navigate to the Accounts section.
  3. Select Add money and tap the Cash deposit tab.
  4. Enter the amount you want to deposit and select Continue.
  5. The app will generate a unique barcode.
  6. Visit your chosen PayPoint location and show this barcode to the staff member.
  7. Hand over your cash to complete the transaction.

Fees and limits

There are specific limits on how much cash you can deposit. You can make multiple deposits in a single day as long as you stay within these limits.

  • Fee per deposit: £2
  • Limit per transaction: £500
  • Monthly limit: £3,000

You can make multiple deposits in a single day, provided each individual deposit does not exceed £500 and your total deposits do not exceed the £3,000 monthly limit.

Checking your deposit status

Funds normally appear in your Teya Business Account within 10 minutes of paying at the store.

To confirm the funds have settled:

  1. Open the Teya app.
  2. Go to Accounts > Business Account.
  3. Check your Transactions list for a cash deposit entry that matches the amount and time of your visit.

 

If you added your Teya Business Account during your initial registration, you must fully complete the verification process before you can start sending money.
