Pay by Link lets you take Payments without a website or an Online Payments subscription. You create a secure payment link, share it with your customer through any channel, and they pay on Teya's secure checkout. This is the fastest way to start taking online Payments with no developer or setup required.
How do I create and share a link?
You can create a Pay by Link from three places, depending on what suits your immediate needs. The result is exactly the same no matter which option you choose.
The Teya Portal: Manage links at scale from your computer.
The Teya App: Take phone orders and send links on the go from your mobile device.
Your Teya Card Machine: Send links during in-person scenarios when the customer is not paying with a card on the spot.
Before you start: Decide what details to include in your link. You must set the amount and currency. You can also add:
A custom expiry date, or leave it with no expiry for long-running campaigns.
A reference, such as an order number, invoice number, or customer name.
Basket items with a description, quantity, and price.
A request for the customer's email, phone number, or delivery address during checkout.
Next step: Share the link with your customer. You can send it via email, SMS, copy the link directly, or generate a QR code.
What do my customers see?
When your customer opens the link, they land on Teya's secure checkout page. They can complete the Payment using a card, Apple Pay, or Google Wallet. 3-D Secure runs on every transaction to ensure the Payment is protected. Once the Payment succeeds, the customer sees a confirmation screen and can request a digital receipt.
How can I customise my checkout page?
Your Pay by Link checkout uses the same Teya hosted checkout that powers our plugins and custom integrations. You can customise this page so that your brand is clearly visible to your customers on every link you send.
Upload your company logo.
Include your terms and conditions and privacy policy.
Add a short note that will appear on the page.
How do I track links and receive funds?
Every link you create appears in the Pay by Link area of the Teya Portal. You can filter your links by status to check whether the customer has tried to pay. Once the customer completes the transaction, you can find the linked Payment record.
The funds will be settled to your Account on your normal Settlements schedule. Learn more about Settlements here.
How do I refund a Pay by Link Payment?
You can easily refund a customer if needed. Open the Teya Portal to issue a full or partial refund for any Pay by Link Payment. The money flows back to your customer's bank automatically.
How much does Pay by Link cost?
Pay by Link uses your standard Teya card-not-present rates. There is no monthly fee, no setup fee, and no separate subscription required. You only pay a fee when you successfully take a Payment.
