Your Teya Business Account allows you to manage business spending using both physical and virtual cards. You can hold up to 3 physical cards and 10 virtual cards at any time, giving you flexibility for online expenses, subscriptions, and in-store payments.
Virtual cards
A virtual card is a digital-only payment card that is available instantly. It has its own card number, expiry date, and CVV. You can use it immediately for:
- Adding to Apple Pay or Google Pay.
- Making online purchases.
- Managing subscription services.
- Handling temporary or one-off transactions.
Create a virtual card
Open the Teya App and tap Money in the bottom navigation bar.
Tap the Cards widget.
Tap Create new card.
Select Virtual card.
Choose whether the card is for you or one of your team members, then tap Continue.
Personalise the card by choosing a colour and creating a Card Label.
If convenient, set a monthly card limit.
Tap Create card. Your virtual card will be ready to use straight away.
Employee Cards
- You can set monthly card limits to help manage spending.
- If they have not downloaded the Teya App yet, they will need to accept the invite and verify their identity in the app before the card can be activated and they can start using it.
Physical cards
Physical cards allow you to pay in-store and withdraw cash. Delivery typically takes up to 2-3 working days. You can create and use a virtual card while you wait for your physical card to arrive.
Order a physical card
- Open the Teya App and tap Money in the bottom navigation bar.
- Tap the Cards widget.
- Tap Create new card.
- Select Physical card.
- Choose whether the card is for you or one of your team members, then tap Continue.
Personalise your card by entering the text you would like printed on the front of the card, or skip this to use the default (your company name for the legal representatives card, or the team member's name for employee cards).
- Input the address for the delivery.
- Check the delivery address and tap Order card.
- Set a 4-digit PIN for the card. Note that his only applies to Legal Representatives. For Employee Cards, the PIN is generated automatically and can be viewed in the Teya App once the Team Member has activated the card.
- Your card has now been ordered. You can track its delivery from the relevant requested card to see when it is on its way.
Please note: The first 3 Business Account physical cards are free. After that, each new physical card costs £5, charged at the time of request.
Track your card delivery
Once you've ordered a physical card, you can follow its progress in the app at any time.
To check the status:
Open the Teya App and tap Money in the bottom navigation bar.
Tap the Cards widget.
Tap the physical card you ordered to see its current delivery status and estimated delivery date.
Your card moves through the following statuses:
Ordered – Your card has been requested and is being prepared.
Dispatched – Your card has left the production site and is with the carrier. The estimated delivery date is shown in the app and updates automatically if it changes.
Delivered – Your card has arrived. You can now activate it in the app to start using it (see Activate your physical card below).
Delivery issue – Your card couldn't be delivered and has been returned to sender. This is usually due to a problem with the delivery address. Update your address in the app and order a new card.
Please note: Any user on your account can view the delivery status of a card, even if it isn't in their own name. Card orders can't be cancelled once they've been placed.
Employee Cards
Give your employees their own Corporate cards for business spending without sharing your primary card details. You can create physical or Virtual Cards for your team members directly in the Teya App. Each card is linked to a specific team member, while you retain full visibility over all card spending.
- You can also set individual spending limits to help manage business expenses.
- If your employee has not downloaded the Teya App yet, they will need to:
- accept the invite
- verify their identity in the app
- They must complete these steps before they can use their card.
Card names and printed details
All team member cards are issued in your company name. For physical team member cards, the details are arranged as follows:
- Your company name is printed on the back of the card.
- Your company name also appears on the front of the card, on the second line.
- The card label shows the team member’s name.
- You can change the label to custom text of up to 21 characters.
Activate your physical card
You must activate your card in the app before you can use it. Once you receive your delivery, follow the activation steps.
- Open the Teya App and tap Money in the bottom navigation bar.
- Tap the Cards widget.
- Locate the physical card you ordered and tap Activate.
- Enter the last 4 digits of the 16-digit card number shown on the card.
- Tap Activate card.
The card status will immediately update to Active, and you can start using it for payments.
