Card Limits

Card limits allow you to set a monthly spending cap on individual cards linked to your Teya Business Account. This helps you control team expenses and monitor spending on specific physical or Virtual Cards.

How card limits work

A card limit applies to a specific card and covers all transaction types, including in-store payments, online purchases, and ATM withdrawals.

  • Monthly reset: Spending tracks from the start of the calendar month. The counter resets to zero at the start of a new month, but your set limit remains in place.
  • Per-card control: You set limits individually. For example, you can limit a Virtual Card used for subscriptions without restricting other team cards.
  • Reaching the limit: If a card reaches its cap, we decline new transactions on that card until the next month or until you increase the limit.
  • Account limits: These limits do not override your overall Teya Business Account limits. If you do not set a specific card limit, the card operates up to your standard account maximums.

Set or change a limit

You can add or adjust a limit in the Teya app at any time.

  1. Open the Teya app and go to Account.
  2. Select Cards.
  3. Choose the physical or Virtual Card you want to update.
  4. Select Manage.
  5. Find Card limit and use the toggle to turn it on (or select Change limit if one is already active).
  6. Enter the maximum monthly amount.
  7. Complete the security check when prompted.

Once confirmed, you will see a progress bar on the card screen showing how much you have spent this month and what remains.

Remove a limit

  1. Open the Teya app and go to Account.
  2. Select Cards.
  3. Choose the card with the active limit.
  4. Select Manage and then Card limits.
  5. Turn the toggle off.

After you remove the limit, the card can be used subject only to your standard Teya Business Account limits.
