PIN security

Updated

Some actions on your card terminal require a PIN. This PIN is called the manager PIN, and it's there to provide an extra layer of security to your business.

The manager PIN is set during the first app setup. It's required whenever you access summaries, or in case you want to manage different features of your card terminal. You can also enable PIN security for accessing transaction details and refunds.

Changing the manager PIN

The PIN can be changed directly from the app's menu. You'll be required to enter the current manager PIN to proceed to changing the manager PIN.

1. From the main window of the app, select the ≡ Menu button in the top left corner.

2. Select PIN security and enter the current manager PIN to continue.

3. Select Change manager PIN to change the PIN. You'll be required to enter the current PIN once more before proceeding.

4. Create the new manager PIN and enter it again to confirm the change.

5. This will display a confirmation message on the screen.

Note: if you wish to enable the PIN security for transactions and refunds, select the Transactions and refunds PIN toggle in the PIN security section. Once enabled, the toggle will turn black.

You can easily check the app version on your device by clicking on the Settings or Menu icon in the top left screen. This will open a window with the menu. At the bottom of the screen, you'll notice the app version, e.g. 2.7.0.

In the Security section, you can manage all details regarding the security of your device and the payment app you use on it. You can choose to make some parts of the app only available to your most trusted employees.

Change manager PIN

Whenever you want to cancel a transaction or process a refund, you'll be asked to enter your four-digit security PIN.

Your terminal will either have this PIN already preloaded, or you'll set it up the first time you launch the app. Either way, you can change it at any time by following the steps below:

  1. From your payment app main menu, click on the Settings icon in the top left corner.

  2. Choose the Security option.

  3. Enter your four-digit PIN to continue.

  4. Press Change manager PIN.

  5. Enter your current PIN.

  6. Create a new PIN.

  7. Confirm this change by entering your new PIN once more.

Transaction history PIN

You can also protect access to your transaction history by enabling Transaction history PIN control.

  1. From your payment app main menu, click on the Settings icon in the top left corner.

  2. Choose the Security option and enter your four-digit PIN.

  3. Select Transaction history PIN.

  4. Tap the toggle switch next to Enable transaction history PIN control. When enabled, the toggle switch will be black.

You'll be required to input the PIN each time you access your transaction history.

In the Security section, you can also choose to:

  • Lock screen
Go to Settings > Security > Lock screen > Enable lock screen. You can then also enable a Lock screen PIN protection.

  • Last receipt PIN
Go to Settings > Security > Last receipt PIN > Enable last receipt PIN control.
